Coyote Creek Golf & RV Resort is Central Alberta's newest championship golf facility located just minutes from Sundre. The Town of Sundre is located 40 kms west of Olds and approximately a one hour drive from Calgary and Red Deer. Coyote Creek will feature a 27 Hole Championship Golf Course with full practice facilities including a driving range, short game chipping area and putting green. The golf course was designed by Browning Horrocks Golf Design based out of Calgary, Alberta. They have designed such courses as Stewart Creek in Canmore, and CopperPoint in Invermere, BC.
Currently there are 18 holes open for play, along with all the practice amenities. The Deer Nine first opened for play in 2005. The second nine holes of this project, named the Coyote Nine, opened in 2008, bringing this championship course to 18 holes of play! The final nine holes of the resort are yet to be constructed.
Coyote Creek was designed for maximum enjoyment regardless of your golf ability. The course is friendly for the beginner and challenging for the low handicapper. It features four different teeing areas to allow golfers to choose the yardage that fits their ability. The fairways are quite generous in size to allow off-centre shots to find the short grass. Sand bunkers were placed in optimum positions to penalize stray shots. The greens at Coyote Creek have been the main topic of conversation amongst golfers after their round. Always fast, the greens have lots of slope and slight undulations making putting the toughest challenge on this championship course. Since the "Deer Nine" opened in the spring of 2005, golfers have marvelled at the quality of the course and the great condition it is always in. Come check it out for yourself ... you will be impressed!
